David has helped individuals, research institutions, and start-ups with registering their trademarks and applying for patent protection on their inventions. During his career, he has helped his clients buy and sell intellectual property of all types, either alone or as part of a larger transaction, and license intellectual property rights.
David’s career has given him experience in addressing a wide variety of intellectual property issues. He was general counsel for a technology start-up focused on blockchain technology. While practicing law as an associate for an international law firm in New York, David aided clients with context intellectual property licensing and intellectual property transactions. David was also an associate at a boutique IP law firm where he gained experience in patent litigation in the federal courts, patent disputes at the International Trade Commission and in representing clients at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to attending law school, David worked as a patent broker and intellectual property consultant, successfully completing patent transactions ranging in size from a single patent to large portfolios and in such technologies as wireless communications, microprocessor design, and intelligent search.
David started his career as a patent examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office where he examined patent applications related to interactive multimedia content distribution applications and systems.
David received his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. He also holds a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Florida, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, both from Swarthmore College. He is a registered patent attorney located in Miami, Florida.
